Coronation Street viewers seem to think Joel Deering may have something to do with Ellie’s disappearance – with some suspecting that he could have killed her.
Things took a shocking turn on the cobbles last week when viewers discovered that Joel might have murdered missing Lauren. After months of speculation, fans were stunned to find out Joel’s true nature.
But on Monday’s show (June 3), viewers thought Joel may be behind another young woman’s vanishing act. During the episode, Joel was seen alone in his car, on the phone to vulnerable sex worker Ellie Benton (Lola Blue).

However later on, when police pulled up at Ellie’s door, her housemate said Ellie was gone. This led fans to worry about her and if Joel has pulled another dangerous act.
Taking to X, one fan said: “Can’t believe Joel’s killed Ellie. She’s either fled out of fear or he’s hiding her somewhere.”
Another said: “Looks like Joel has killed again! But how stupid is he deleting Ellie’s number off his phone when he gets found out won’t the police check his phone and still see his previous contacts?”
A third added: “So Joel may have murdered Ellie – just like he’s potentially done to Lauren. I’m really worried about Bethany now.”
While another added: “I don’t think Lauren is dead. I think she is being held with Ellie. I think Nicky knows. Plus I wonder if Joel has actually met Bethany before without her realising. At one of the parties she was abused at. “
Elsewhere in the show, Dee-Dee discovered that Joel was representing Nathan. After answering Joel’s phone, Dee-Dee was disgusted when she heard Nathan’s voice.

Nathan, who previously abused Bethany, has been charged for Lauren’s potential murder. But Joel is trying his best to ensure that Nathan is blamed for Lauren’s disappearance- which will mean he will walk away from his crimes freely.
But although Dee Dee was disappointed fans are convinced she’ll have more heartache to come. One viewer said: “Aw Dee Dee, just wait til she’s finds out what Joel’s really been up to this whole time. Lying about still very much representing Nathan is the absolute fucking least of it unfortunately for her. Better she gets out now while she still can.”
