Corrie fans have been left baffled after spotting something strange in a recent scene with Roy Cropper.
Last month, Roy (David Neilson) was released from the soap’s fictional prison, HMP Highfield, after being a prime suspect in the Lauren Bolton case. Fans will recall the troubled youngster went missing earlier this year – with Roy being the last known person to see her alive.
And it didn’t take long for Roy to become a number one suspect. And in shocking scenes, he ended up getting arrested and sent to prison for Lauren’s murder.

However, bent copper Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) planted Lauren’s DNA in paedophile Nathan Curtis’s (Christopher Harper) van and framed him for the crime – this meant Roy was able to was able to leave prison.
But in reality, viewers learned the truth about Lauren’s disappearance: she was actually beaten to death by sicko solicitor Joel Deering (Calum Lill).
A free man, Roy soon left the prison with niece (Mollie Gallagher) and defence lawyer Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) waited for him at the prison gates. When he arrived, they all embraced while Roy looked up at the sunshine in the sky.

However, it seems some fans were more bothered about something “bizarre” behind them. Usually, when HMP Highfield appears on the soap, its exterior is the entrance gates to the soap’s production site in Manchester.
But for this scene, only a portion of the car park was used. What’s more, the wide shot showed Roy leaving the exit gate – but the prison building behind the walls doesn’t actually exist.

Fans were quick to point out the dodgy CGI over on the Digital Spy Forums. One person said: “That wide shot of HMP Highfield/Weatherfield is a joke.
“There’s no roof and no sides to it. Did they [the production team] literally go: “It’s only going to be on screen for 2 seconds, no one’s going to notice the bad CGI”?’

Someone else added their thoughts and said: “That jail is laughable.” A third chimed in and wrote: “The ‘shot’ of the prison after Roy’s release and the building is flatter than my singing.”
Another person said on the social media platform: “Why not just have him walking out a “normal” door? No one would notice or care, unlike that bizarre CGI jail.”
