Corrie Fiz star Jennie McAlpine’s weight loss hack after dropping three dress sizes

Coronation Street actress Jennie McAlpine has revealed the secret behind her stunning weight loss that saw her drop three dress sizes.

The actress, who celebrated her 40th birthday last month, rose to fame in 2001 after landing the role of Fiz Brown. Fast forward 23 years later Jennie is a married mum-of-two who looks worlds away from the fresh-faced teen we first met in Weatherfield.

Since then she has opened up on how she has managed to shed the pounds – emphasising the importance of trusting your instincts. She first discussed her exploits in 2021, insisting simple “common sense” has helped her in her journey.

She told OK! at the time: “I don’t go in for all the diet plans and worrying yourself silly over how much you weigh. Ice cream is bad, salad is good – it’s not rocket science.”

Jennie continued: “If you eat more of the good stuff and take more exercise then you’ll lose weight.” Since then however, the star has divulged further, adding that a games console is a weight loss “hack” that could prove beneficial to everyone.

Jennie credits the Nintendo Wii as something that gets her heart pumping – it’s boxing game in particular its Wii Sports Boxing game – as good as any cardio gym workout.

Despite offering advice, she previously told ITV’s Loose Women of her reluctance in the pas to discuss such a topic after a magazine front cover led with her apparent “wish” to have a gastric band fitted. She told the panel in 2017: “I was so distressed. I refuse to talk about it because I don’t want to be responsible for a young boy or young girl reading that.”

Jennie went on to stress the importance of not “over-worrying” and there are “far more important things going on in the world”. She added: “It’s really not worth beating yourself up over it.

“I know there’s pressure in this business, but I can honestly say I’ve never felt it myself. I’m not saying I let it wash over me because of course I’m aware of it, but I don’t let it bother me.

“I just think there are far more important things going on in the world. A balanced diet and regular exercise are essential to maintain a healthy lifestyle and start your weight loss journey.”
