Corrie’s Ben Price has revealed how his partner reacted to his racy sex scenes in a “really controversial” show.
The actor is probably best known for playing Nick Tilsley on the ITV soap – making his debut in 2009. And since then, Nick, who was previously played by Adam Rickitt and Warren Jackson, has been central to the cobbles drama.
From affairs to the discovery of a secret son, Nick has played a part in several big storylines. Especially at the moment, as over in Weatherfield his girlfriend Leanne has become somewhat invested in a cult-like institution.

Though he is a favourite to Coronation Street fans, Ben’s acting career stretches back to the late nineties, and he has even earned acclaim as a writer and director.

Before his Corrie stint, in 2004, he joined the cast of a raunchy TV show, playing Conrad Gates in ITV’s Footballers Wives. The series followed the lives of the footballers at Earls Park Football Club and their wives and girlfriends.
Giving David Beckham a run for his money, Ben channelled the noughties footballers of the era on the show, with frosted tips and plenty of fake tan. His character also famously had a romance with one of his teammates, Noah Alexander, played by Marcel McCalla.
Packed with juicy bed-hopping antics and epic plot twists, Footballers Wives ran for five series from 2002. It also spawned an even racier spin-off Extra Time on ITV2 for two series.
And it’s fair to say the racy show ruffled a few feathers back in the day. Even actor Ben once told The Sun in 2010: “People look back on it very fondly but at the time it was really controversial.“

Ben was no stranger to stripping off and getting down and dirty on-screen during his stint on Footballers Wives. Most notably, a plane bonk with co-star Zöe Lucker that saw him pour champagne over her naked body before romping mid-flight.
And while some partners would be put off by their S.O filming graphic sex scenes, actor Ben said that wasn’t the case for him and his then-girlfriend, and now-wife.
Speaking to The Guardian in 2004, Ben was quizzed on how his missus felt about the racy scenes. He said: “It is not the nicest thing to have to look at.
“But she is very at ease about the whole thing. She works in the media and I was upfront from the beginning about the kind of scenes I would be shooting, so she would be prepared for all this,” he added.
