A former Coronation Street star could be set for an epic Hollywood success in a huge career move.
Actress Katy Cavanagh shot to fame playing Julie Carp on the ITV soap – making her debut in 2008. As the sister of soap icon Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver), Julie became a firm-favourite with viewers.
In 2015 though, Katy quit the soap after seven years. In a statement announcing her departure from the soap, Katy said: “I have decided it’s time to take a break from the cobbles and pursue other projects and opportunities.

“I have loved every minute in the world of Julie Carp and I’m not ruling out a return to the Street in the future. However I am looking forward to a new challenge and a pair of flat shoes.”
Katy went on to star in the likes of comedy shows Not Going Out and Birds of A Feather. She also turned her hand to theatre, appearing in a number of productions.
Meanwhile Katy’s son Noah Jupe has followed in his famous mum’s footsteps. Now 19, he has starred in Blockbuster flicks like A Quiet Place, opposite Emily Blunt, as well as The Undoing with Nicole Kidman.
And recently, Noah has teamed up with mum Katy and dad Chris Jupe. The trio will reportedly be launching a production company to make their own films. What’s more, amid the career move, Katy has also started screenwriting.
It’s been claimed Katy has written a script for a new psychological thriller that is described as a mix between The Beach and The Talented Mr Ripley. A source told The Sun: “Katy’s not only a Corrie icon but a hugely talented writer.
“Teaming up with her producer husband and Hollywood superstar son is a no brainer. The sky’s the limit for them.”
Noah recently opened up to Variety about working with his parents. He said: “It’s always been a dream of my parents.
“My mum was an actress for a while, my dad was a producer, been an AD, been on a film set his whole life, so we’re a very film family. We’re very savvy in terms of the industry.
“It was very helpful with me working as a kid because my parents would be on set and they know what they were doing, and they’d know about all the different intricacies of being on set.”
Meanwhile Katy’s former Corrie co-star Michelle Keegan has recently caught the attention of Hollywood (and the internet) for her role in the Netflix drama, Fool Me Once. The 36-year-old plays lead role, Maya Stern in the psychological thriller released earlier this year.
And Michelle even teased a potential emigration to America after finding herself in a “golden moment” of her career. In an interview with The Guardian, the former Coronation Street star has revealed that she would think about re-locating if the perfect role came along.
