Dakota Johnson has shared the gory details of filming
Fifty Shades
, including superglued thongs, drinking alcohol on set, and BDSM specialists.
In an interview with Marie Claire, Dakota Johnson spilled the beans on all the dirty details of filming Fifty Shades. The latest instalment in the raunchy series, Fifty Shades Freed follows newlyweds Anastasia (Dakota Johnson) and Christian (Jamie Dornan) escaping crazed stalker Jack Hyde (Eric Hyde).
But married life does nothing to dull the couple’s infamous saucy scenes, according to Dakota. The now-34-year-old shared that the sex scenes were shot all over the place as the trilogy was filmed back to back.

Dakota shared that the ‘most difficult’ scene was in Fifty Shades Freed. Finding herself blindfolded and at the mercy of Jamie Dornan’s character (and the set designers), Dakota revealed that the whole experience was ‘shocking’.

The Texan-born actress explained: “It was kind of shocking, because I didn’t realise that no matter how prepared or rehearsed I was, when your senses are taken away like that, you can’t control the way your nervous system will react.” Dakota went on to explain that to minimise awkwardness between nude scenes, the pair make sure to thoroughly prepare beforehand.
However, according to the 21 Jump Street actress, a measure of liquid courage helps to alleviate tension. Dakota said: “If something is very, very difficult, it’s sometimes necessary to have a shot of something strong beforehand.”
Whilst filming vulnerable scenes is far from easy, the actors are permitted basic modesty protection to allow some sense of being covered. Dakota revealed a bizarre contraption was fitted during filming to cover her nether regions.

The brunette bombshell clarified: “I had these sort of strapless thongs that had glue on them… It would also come off because the adhesive would wear out, so then they would superglue it to my body so that it wouldn’t fall off”. According to Dakota, her co-star also had adhesive underwear, which she referred to as his “little pouch”.
Despite their faux-BDSM expertise by the third series, the stars still had BDSM coaches, trained in how to correctly use sex tools and toys. Dakota explained the importance of following the rules, extensively researching in order to correctly represent the BDSM community.
As well as the technical aspect of filming the Fifty Shades film series, Dakota has previously shared stories of on-set injuries. Whilst filming the Red Room scenes, the actress was hurt by on-screen boyfriend, Jamie.

The Northern Irish hunk threw Dakota around so much during the scenes, that the actress suffered whiplash. She previously told Yahoo! how after 17 takes of Jamie throwing her on the bed she couldn’t move her neck.
Jamie previously added: “I don’t think I injured myself ever, but I think Dakota came out a little bit worse!
“I think she has been vocal about how she was bruised up after a couple of days when stuff got a little bit real in the Red Room.”
