Adele Roberts feels “privileged” to make Dancing on Ice history.
The radio DJ, 44, has made the final of the ITV competition with her skating partner Mark Hanretty. The only woman left in the competition, Adele will battle it out against Ryan Thomas, Miles Nazaire and Greg Rutherford on Sunday night (March 10).
Weeks after Adele was diagnosed with bowel cancer, she underwent surgery to remove the tumour and part of her rectum before she was given a stoma. A stoma is an opening on the abdomen that can be connected either to your digestive or urinary system to allow waste to be diverted out of your body.

The I’m A Celebrity star admitted it’s been “a dream” representing the ostomate community throughout her journey on the show. “The way the ostomate community have supported me has been amazing,” she exclusively told Daily Star and other press.
Adele added: “All the other contestants have all helped me in their own way. It’s a privilege to be an ostomate and to be the first one in the history of the show to have a stoma.”
The TV presenter opened up about what it’s been like training with her stoma, revealing her bag has started to fall off whilst she’s been practising. Adele continued: “Also to work out how to train with a stoma, when to eat, when to drink, what to do if my bag starts coming off which it has done.”
Adele’s co-star Miles Nazaire pointed out that she is always stocked up on Lucozade. Explaining, Adele said: “One side effect of having a stoma is that I’m always dehydrated because I have an ileostomy. I don’t have access to the large colon which is where water gets reintroduced into the body, so I have special drinks and Miles is always eyeing them up.”
While only two out of the four finalists will perform the iconic Bolero on Sunday night, all four celebrities have rehearsed the routine. Adele shared her hopes at being able to take the routine to the ice for her partner Mark.
“This will be our last dance and you want it so bad for your partner. I want to do it so much for Mark,” Adele gushed. “I think he deserves to do it. I don’t think he’s ever done the Bolero on the show and he’s the longest serving pro.”
