Dave Grohl has announced that he has fathered a child outside of his marriage to Jordyn Blum, and everyone is making the same joke.

The news was shared via an official statement on his Instagram account, revealing the birth of his “new baby daughter”. While some fans were shocked by the revelation, others saw it as an opportunity for humour.

The Foo Fighters frontman’s announcement was met with a wave of jokes on social media, with one user’s quip garnering over 60,000 likes on X.

Grohl’s statement read: “I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage. I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness. We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together.”

One fan took the opportunity to make a joke referencing one of the band’s biggest hits, ‘Best of You’. Sharing a screenshot of Grohl’s statement, they wrote: “Dave Grohl missed a trick not opening this statement with ‘I’ve got another confession to make’.”

‘Best of You’ rocketed to the top of the rock charts in the US, Canada, and UK, yet it wasn’t the only Foo Fighters track used to poke fun at Grohl’s latest news. One fan quipped: “There goes my hero,” invoking yet another smash from the Foo Fighters’ hit list, ‘My Hero.’.

Not everyone thought the choice to kick off with a Foo Fighters lyric would be good for Grohl, as one noted: “To be fair, if I was his wife and he started his IG post off with, ‘I’ve got another confession to make…’ I would probably explode.”
