Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway will return to ITV next weekend for its 20th series.
Dec, on the verge of tears, appreciated their fans, with Ant also showing visible emotions. The duo then embraced in a show of support and performed a song to thank their viewers.
This comes after the hosts expressed their disappointments about the show ending but they also promised its return. They acknowledged that the finale would be packed with emotions as they planned an extended episode to farewell their series.

Previously, the hosts had revealed their intentions to take a break from the screens. There’s no information yet on when the show is likely to return on ITV.
Ant shared: “I can’t quite believe it will be the last show, we’ve thoroughly enjoyed making this final series.” He continued, “I know it’ll be an emotional night but we intend to give Takeaway viewers a party to end all parties! It’s been mixed emotions all week as we’ve been planning and rehearsing this final show.”
He added, saying, “Saturday Night Takeaway is very special to us. We’ve made this two-hour finale show a real celebration of all things SNT from over the years.”
Teasing their audience, Ant said, “I don’t want to give away too much but it will be a big goodbye…” Dec chimed in , concluding with “…for now! ” The pair also dropped hints about the finale episode, promising that it would celebrate the series and it would be “unpredictable”.
Ant expressed his excitement, saying: ” It’s genuinely the biggest Saturday Night Takeaway we’ve ever done! We’re taking over the whole of TV Centre, it’s going to be chaotic, unpredictable and hopefully very entertaining….anything could happen!”
Dec added: “Everything is supersized for this very special live farewell show – we’ve got 3 stages, our main studio stage and two brand new purpose-built stages outside TV Centre.”
Fans were already aware that there would be a host of familiar faces, including celebrity guests and past show participants.
