Eamonn Holmes facing ‘challenge’ in new relationship after Ruth Langsford split

Eamonn Holmes’ past relationship with his ex-wife Ruth Langsford “will shape his approach” to his new romance with Katie Alexander, says a relationship guru.

After parting ways with Ruth, 64, earlier this year, the GB News presenter started seeing Katie, a mum-of-three and a BACP registered relationship counsellor.

At 42, the divorcee is 22 years Eamonn’s junior, who himself is a dad-of-four and will be celebrating his 65th birthday this December.

Jesper Jensen, a relationship expert at ExpertsEnAmour, suggests that moving on quickly after a split can bring its own set of difficulties.

He said: “When someone is emotionally ready, the timing may not matter as much as it seems,” reports Belfast Live.

However, Jesper highlights that rebound relationships have their own hurdles, noting: “Eamonn’s experience with Ruth will shape his approach with his new partner.

“If he’s really reflected on his past relationship, this could be a good foundation, but only if both partners are willing to deal with any emotional baggage.”

Eamonn and Ruth confirmed their separation in a joint statement through a spokesperson back in May after 14 years of wedded bliss.

The statement read: “Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.”

Despite their separation, both parties, who have a 22 year old son together, continue to sport their wedding bands.

Recently quizzed on why she was sticking to her marital surname by an Instagram user, the telly star clapped back with: “Because I am still married.”

Aside from her sassy comeback on social media, the Loose Women favourite has kept quiet about their split, while Eamonn showed his gratitude for the outpouring of love from fans on GB News shortly after the news broke.

Ruth is reportedly living at the family home in Surrey, while Eamonn is shacked up in a modest London apartment just a stone’s throw from the studio.

Love guru Jensen reckons there’s a glimmer of hope for the duo rekindling the flame, but it’s not all plain sailing a few things might tip the scales.

He said: “Eamonn and Ruth have a history, and sometimes that can work in your favour if both have worked through past issues.

“For any chance of getting back together, there needs to be a genuine desire to forgive, heal, and rebuild trust. Without that, the same old problems will resurface.”

For the moment, Ruth’s been all about the graft and quality time with her nearest and dearest, including her fur baby Maggie, who she and Eamonn gave a forever home back in 2011.

Braving the drizzle for a walk with the dog last weekend, she shared: “Walking in the rain with the one I love!”
