Eamonn Holmes’ holiday with his new girlfriend wasn’t just a romantic trip, it’s been claimed.
The 64-year-old was snapped looking smitten in Europe with his new and much younger flame, 42-year-old Katie Alexander. One moment caught the GB News star cheekily placing his hand on her bottom while sat in his wheelchair in Ibiza.
The pair were also pictured at Barcelona airport as well as Heathrow during their break, a big step for the new couple. But it’s said the trip wasn’t just a “romantic gesture” as Eamonn got the trip as a “freebie” after signing a deal to be an ambassador for the holiday company Not Just Travel.

A source told MailOnline: “While it looked like Eamonn had whisked Katie off on a no-expense-spared trip away, it didn’t actually cost him a penny. It was part of his deal with Not Just Travel so, if anything, he was actually paid to go – which was very fortuitous indeed, especially because he could take a plus one with him.

“There was an element of work. Eamonn had to film some segments to promote the company. But the fact he didn’t pay certainly lessens the whole idea it was a romantic trip away.
The travel insider added: “Katie didn’t seem to mind though. It was a lovely, sunny break for her as they enjoy their first throes of love.”

Eamonn and Katie enjoyed a seven-day trip – the “Irresistable Med and Rome’ which started in Barcelona and headed to Toulon on the southern French coast, to a scenic spot called Marina di Carrara between Tuscany and Liguria and then Civitavecchia, which is north of Rome.
The luxury boat is believed to boast a spa with mud, salt and steam rooms, a sauna, hot and cold plunge pools and a VIP bar. it’s believed Eamonn’s friendship with Katie started nine years before he split from Ruth.

Eamonn reportedly signed the contract to become a Not Just Travel ambassador back in May, the same month he and Ruth Langsford announced their split after 14 years of marriage.
