George Knight learned the identity of his biological father during the latest episode of EastEnders.
The Queen Vic landlord, played by Colin Salmon, received a visit from his adoptive parents Eddie (Christopher Fairbank) and Gloria Knight (Elizabeth Counsell) during Wednesday’s (February 13) instalment of the BBC One soap.
George insisted on talking alone with his dad and tells him that he recognises the man whom he’s accused of murdering. During a painful confrontation, George finally unlocks the truth about his childhood, Eddie’s racism and what really happened the night Henry Kofi Asare was killed., dumped in a suitcase and chucked in the canal in a racist attack.

The two men are unaware that George’s daughters Gina (Francesca Henry) and Anna (Molly Rainford) are listening at the door. Meanwhile, Gloria tried to explain herself to George’s partner Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) upstairs in the Vic and begged her to help convince George to testify on Eddie’s behalf.
The situation between George and Eddie turned violent and Gloria revealed a shocking secret which will change their lives forever. Henry was George’s birth father and Gloria had asked Eddie to do whatever it took to stop him from taking George away from her. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter one fan penned: “Best episode of #eastenders I can remember watching. What a storyline with George Knight.”
Another added: “Just finished tonight’s EastEnders on IPlayer. I think in 25 years it might be the best episode I’ve ever seen.” Someone else agreed: “#Eastenders telling it like it is!!! Well played!! Great episode.” A fourth social media user said: “Eastenders was on top form tonight. A very powerful episode, well done to all involved in making it.”
Last month, George discovered he was adopted via a process known as farming, which saw children advertised for money. George stumbled across more information, learning his parents had lied about everything regarding his parents, including who they were and where they were from.
Now, fans have started to speculate more about George’s birth parents, with some believing Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter) could be his real mother. Theorising online, one wrote: “What if George is Yolande’s secret childhood pregnancy and that’s why she’s spent her life devoted to God and never had any other children.”
Another shared: “George born in Jamaican, Does this mean Patrick and Yolande connection to George?” A third intrigued viewer asked: “Clues and Vibes Been Given. Is Yolande the biological mother of George.”
Echoing this, another penned: “hints at yet ANOTHER ‘RACE’ Storyline this time involving George Knight & his “ADOPTED PARENTS”…. Although, I have already had a big prediction: Patrick Trueman and Yolande might be his REAL Parents..” Fans will have to wait and see if there’s more twists to George’s family history.
EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday on BBC One at 7.30pm
