EastEnders fans could be set for a surprise DNA twist involving newcomer Britney Wainwright.
The character, played by Lola Campbell, made her debut on the soap this week. Fans will recall how a pregnant Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) and Zack Hudson (James Farrar) have headed to Milton Keynes to visit Bianca Jackson.
However, things took a dramatic turn when they found out she was feeding two neglected kids – Britney and her brother Taylor. It was then revealed that the kids had a drug and booze-addicted mum with a vile dodgy partner.

Whitney was left heartbroken at the revelation, remembering her own childhood that led her to an abusive upbringing and being groomed. In a bid to help, she told Britney she wouldn’t abandon her and let her down.
However, during Monday’s episode (March 4) Whitney ended up getting hit by a car after chasing after Britney. Luckily, Whitney and her unborn baby were fine.
And in Thursday’s instalment (March 5) despite Zack telling Whitney they needed to head back to Walford, she shut him down. Whitney then told him how she wanted them to adopt Britney – but Zack didn’t want to. This led to Zack storming off back to the square – leaving Whitney in Milton Keynes with Britney.
Now, fans have been quick to point out a “parallel”. During a creepy conversation between Britney’s mum’s boyfriend and Whitney, fans on Reddit wrote: “Was the “step dad” or whoever he was meant to be to Britney reflect Whitney’s storyline with Tony?”
Fans will recall how Whitney was abused by her stepfather Tony King – having been in a sexual relationship with her from the age of 12. Someone else added: “I definitely think so.
“I think that comment he made about her being pretty felt like it was meant to hint at him abusing her. I don’t think it was just a random compliment with the way they were portraying him.”
What’s more, AI also reckons Britney could be related to a Walford resident in what would be a huge twist. Daily Star has quizzed one of the world’s most popular artificially intelligent “creative” tools, Gemini, to see if Britney could be related to someone on the soap.
The program responded: “considering her storyline revolves around Whitney Dean and her struggles with her negligent mother, some viewers might theorize potential connections.”
The system then noted how Britney could be Whitney’s half-sibling. It explained: “Whitney has several half-siblings through her biological father, David, who could have fathered Britney as well. However, there’s no established information about David having other children.”
