EastEnders fans reckon Pastor Clayton’s downfall is just around the corner.
The character, played by Howard Saddler, rocked up to Walford in December last year as the square’s local church leader. At first, fans thought he and Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter) would strike up some sort of romance.
But recently, he has been embroiled in a big storyline that has seen him sexually assault Yolande. And viewers are convinced it’s only going to get worse. After meeting at the community centre, rumours started to swirl recently that Yolande and the Pastor’s relationship was more than just friends.

However, Yolande was forced to shut down the gossip and lashed out at ringleader Agatha. Afterwards, The Pastor assured her that there wasn’t anything to worry about. But things took a stomach-churning turn when Clayton pulled Yolande in for an embrace.
He slowly moved his hands to the base of her back. Yolande was stunned at the Pastor – and was too shaken to stay anything. Later on, he then placed his hand on her thigh but when she questioned his motives, he claimed that she was misreading the situation.
Gaslighting her, the Pastor then fumed at Yolande for calling him out on his actions. He later introduced his wife to her and kicked Yolande of the charity event she had been organising after coming up with the idea.

But now, it looks like the Pastor will get what’s coming to him, according to fans. What’s more, they are convinced they know who will “save” Yolande from him.
Over on a Reddit thread, fans mused how it could be Denzel Danes (Jaden Ladega). Viewers will recall how he is currently involved in a heartbreaking steroid and body image storyline.
The viewer shared their theory and wrote: “Denzel is gonna end up roid raging on the Pastor when Yolande tells him or he catches him mid-assault or something.” Someone else added: “Yes I think this will happen for sure, you can see they’re building up to Denzel losing the plot and going too far with his rage.”
A third penned: “Oh you’re probably right. They made a point of having Denzel say something the other day about how he couldn’t protect Yolande from those kids in the alley” They’ll definitely have him try and “redeem” himself and it’ll go horribly wrong.” Another wrote: “Denzel will actually save her this time.”
