EastEnders star Danny Dyer’s genius toilet roll trick for when spicy curries sting his ring

Danny Dyer says he keeps a loo roll in his fridge to cool his bum for when it gets scorched by hot curries.

The TV hardman, 47, best known for playing Mick Carter in EastEnders, loves a vindaloo. But he makes sure he has the chilled paper ready for the inevitable reaction.

He told the latest episode of the Off Menu podcast: “I do love hot food. When I was brought up me mother used to always get an Indian, a Madras, and she’d save me a bit on a plate.

“So I got used to having hot food as a youngster. I’ve moved up now and I’m a vindaloo man. I do love a vindaloo. There’s just something about it.”

However he said he plans carefully for when he has finished his meal. He added: “There’s a myth it gives you the runs. It doesn’t give you the runs, Indian food, it just makes your a***hole sting.

“I get a naughty vindaloo near me. Some are really spicy, some not so bad. Sometimes you put the khazi roll in the fridge and just have it ready, just to get that first pony out the way.

“You know it’s coming, you gotta get it out the way, and just have that a*** tentatively and just get through it. I like to have it on a Saturday cos it feels like a Saturday for me and especially after a few beers.”

Asked if he always keeps a toilet roll in the fridge, Danny replied: “There’s been times I just risk it and think ‘f*** it.

“When it’s a naughty one and I know it’s coming, I will just….and I’ve got a lot of fridges in my gaffe cos I’m caked. I’ve got a few wine coolers and so on, so I can stash me khazi roll somewhere without anyone seeing it.

“You don’t wanna leave your toilet roll next to the potato salad in the fridge, it’s not very appetising is it. So just pop it downstairs in me little wine cooler and dab away.”
