EastEnders; fans have slammed tonight’s “cringeworthy” ending of the episode.
On Monday (May 13), viewers were less than impressed with the show’s ‘duff duff’ moment – as George Knight’s son arrived on the soap. The Queen Vic landlord, played by actor Colin Salmon, has been spiralling out control in recent episodes.
This came after George discovered his mother was buried without his knowledge. More recently, he has been taken part in underground fights, even though just one punch could kill him.

In tonight’s episode, he was confronted by Elaine, Cindy and daughters Anna and Gina in a bid to stop him from continuing with the dangerous activity. However, despite their efforts, they couldn’t manage to stop him.
Anna then hatched a plan to reach out to her brother Junior to see if he would have any luck in putting him off his warpath. Though they didn’t hear anything back from his son.
During the final scenes of the show, George got ready for another scrap at the abandoned office. But when he finally saw who his opponent was, he was left speechless.

George was stunned when he came face to face with his estranged son Junior in the ring. Looking like he saw a ghost, George said: “Junior?”
“‘Ello dad,” his son replied, before the duff duff music started playing for the show to come to an end. However, fans found it very cringe-worthy.

One wrote: “Oh that ending was so cringeworthy. The episode had its moments but it was definitely one of the weaker ones we’ve had in a while.|
A second added: “The ending was cringe tbh.” While a third penned: “I’ll be glad when the underground boxing stuff is over. It’s getting a tad repetitive and I do want to see all the women in George’s orbit doing something different.”
A fourth posted: “Not the “ello, Dad” duff duff. I hope Junior is there on purpose and not by coincidence.”
