Elvis Presley could be back in the building with a show by the makers of ABBA Voyage.
Pophouse, which created the concerts with ABBA as virtual avatars, wants to do the same with the King. The Swedish firm has reportedly held talks with the owners of the rights to Presley’s work and image.
It would see the Hound Dog star, who died in 1977, brought back as an avatar. ABBA singer Bjõrn Ulvaeus, 79, the co-founder of Pophouse, recently told a conference in Berlin he “would like to work with Elvis”.

In November the Elvis Evolution show, created by the UK’s Layered Reality, will take place in London. Both Sony Music, which owns the rights to the singer’s work and Authentic Brands Group, which owns his image rights, have been approached for comment.
Andrew McGuinness, chief executive of Layered Reality, said: “Elvis Evolution is a next-generation tribute to the musical legend that is Elvis Presley. Elvis maintains superstar status globally and people around the world no longer want to sit there and passively receive entertainment – they want to be a part of it.
“It’ll be a memory-making experience that will be a bucket-list item for Elvis fans and admirers around the world; people can step into the world of Elvis, walk in his shoes and celebrate his extraordinary musical legacy.”
Elvis died unexpectedly on August 16, 1977 aged just 42. The icon was found lying face down on the bathroom floor of his Graceland home, where he appeared to have fallen from the toilet close by.
In the years leading to his sudden death, his health had deteriorated after years of drug abuse catching up with him combined with a diet of junk food. His official cause of death, given by the coroner three days later, was listed as “hypertensive cardiovascular disease with atherosclerotic heart disease”.
The star was pronounced dead when he got to the hospital and shipped immediately to the morgue, where an autopsy was carried out that very afternoon.
