Emily Atack’s baby dad confirmed as step-cousin she’s been friends with since childhood

Emily Atack’s new boyfriend and father of her unborn child has been revealed as her step-cousin.

The Inbetweeners star announced her pregnancy earlier this week as she told fans she was expecting her first child with scientist Alistair Garner. Before this, Emily, 34, had kept her romance under wraps and since the announcement, it has been revealed that her new man is the son of her late uncle, Dr Stephen Garner.

The Sun revealed the news after they found that Stephen was married to Emily’s aunt Jane Robbins. A source told the publication: “Emily and Alistair consider themselves more family friends but they are cousins who aren’t related by blood.

“They grew up together and have always got on really well, but last year they started to get closer. It has been a really natural evolution of their friendship and they both have strong feelings for each other.

The 34-year-old actress shared the exciting news on Instagram alongside a stunning snap

The insider revealed that both Emily and Alistair are “thrilled” with the news and are really looking forward to becoming parents. According to the source, their families are “totally supportive” and think they’re a “lovely couple”.

Emily was very close to her late uncle and was left heartbroken when he passed away last year. In a now-deleted post, Emily wrote: “It breaks my heart to say that on Friday we lost my beautiful uncle Steve.

“I often shared photos and stories with you all on here about him because I simply adored him. Everybody did. The smartest and funniest soul you could ever wish to have in your company.

“Always sharing his talents and love for music, cooking, hiking and writing. Just a few of many. He appreciated every single day he was here, his zest and enthusiasm for life was infectious.
