Emmerdale fans will witness an explosive showdown between Kerry Wyatt and Mackenzie Boyd.
Kerry (Laura Lorton) hasn’t been seen in person since late 2022 after she fled the Dales following the discovery that her late partner Al Chapman (Michael Wildman) was cheating on her. She left behind her daughter’s Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson) and Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland) as she took a job on a cruise ship.
But she finds her way back to the village on Thursday (March 7) after the police arrest for stealing. With Kerry back in the Dales, Laura confessed her character is keen to have it out with Mackenzie (Lawrence Boyd) and Charity (Emma Atkins) following Chloe’s exit last year.

“I think Kerry is fiercely protective over her children, even though she doesn’t step up to the mark in being a mum sometimes,” the actress exclusive told Daily Star and other press. “From her perspective when it counts, she’ll defend them until the bitter end.
“That’s usually when she ends up making her worst decisions when she’s sticking up for her kids. But she’ll be desperate to have it out with Charity and Mackenzie and say her piece because she’s devastated that Chloe’s not here.”
The mum-of-two opened up about Kerry’s regret not being around for Chloe over the past year, adding: “This is her way of making up for that. There will be some eruptions somewhere down the line.”
Laura admitted she was worried about stepping back into the shoes of Kerry after a lengthy time away from the soap. The soap star, who has played Kerry since 2012, went on maternity leave for the second time in 2022, with Kerry departing the village in November.
Laura opened up about what it was like returning to the soap and gave credit to the people she works with for making it as easy as possible. She said: “Every department made it very easy for me to slip back into Kerry again because the scripts, the story, the writing and the costumes. As soon as you put her clothes on I was back.
Laura continued: “I think having such a long period of time off – because I did have one year and a half – I was worried that I couldn’t do it anymore. I felt very blessed when I opened the script and realised how she was coming back and it did make it very easy.”
