Soap fans will remember that Kelvin played the role of Andy Sugden in the ITV soap for 20 years from 1996 to 2016 and Liz played Cindy Cunningham’s bank manager Alex Burton in Hollyoaks last year.
Proud dad Kelvin, 40, took to Instagram to share his joy with his followers: “Marnie made her TV acting debut last week as she joined the fantastic cast of @hollyoaksofficial. I was her ‘chaperone’ and I can’t begin to tell you the emotions I felt standing there watching.
“To be standing behind the camera, watching my 7-year-old daughter act for the first time in front of the camera, brought so many feelings back to when I first started acting and it felt so surreal to be there witnessing it all again but this time, as a parent.
“My heart was beaming with pride and it was truly one of the very few times I’ve felt completely fulfilled. To see your child find their passion and chase that feeling is one of the most beautiful and inspiring things to behold. What a moment for me and more importantly, what a moment for her. Well done darling. PS The same week she got that casting, I didn’t get two!”
Three years after leaving Emmerdale, Kelvin won the Strictly Come Dancing with professional partner Oti Mabuse. He joined the line-up after Made In Chelsea star Jamie Laing withdrew due to suffering a foot injury in training.
Hollyoaks airs weeknights on E4 at 7pm and first look episodes can be streamed Channel 4 at 7.30pm
