Emotions are running high in Emmerdale next week, as Paddy and Chas share a vulnerable moment which later leads to a kiss.
When Chas only allows herself to have two weeks off on the Woolpack roster, Aaron begins to worry that she’s not facing up to the reality of her operation. Soon after, Paddy and Chas have a discussion about life and Chas’ health.
After a long chat, Chas finally opens up to a supportive Paddy about her concerns surrounding her operation. As she fears the worst, Paddy lovingly comforts her and provides her with a shoulder to lean on.

As they unknowingly become Swept up in the familiarity of the situation, the pair begin to kiss before Paddy quickly realises he’s made a huge mistake. However, Paddy, who is now in a relationship with Mandy, leaves Chas feeling hurt by his tactless reaction.
Later on, Mandy’s shell shocked when Paddy reveals he kissed Chas in the heat of the moment. Paddy’s unnerved by Mandy’s eerily quiet reaction to the situation.
Not long after, at the hospital, Chas puts on a brave face in front of her son Aaron as she’s taken into surgery. But once alone, her bravado fails as nerves take over her.
Waiting in the hospital wing, Aaron and Cain are clearly feeling tense as they wait for news on Chas. Although they’re unable to express how they feel to one another, both men are grateful for each other’s company
Later on, the magnitude of Chas’ operation finally dawns on her. And Paddy’s heartbroken to catch emotional Chas in such a vulnerable state.
Chas has been going through a rather turbulent time of late after she was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. During her health ordeal, Chas discovred that she also has BRCA2 gene.
Knowing that the gene could also affect other members in her family, Chas has urged the men in her life to also get checked. In emotional scenes last week, Chas told her brother Cain and Caleb as well as her son Aaron to see a doctor about the condition that they may also have.
