Anton Du Beke is reportedly throwing his support behind Giovanni Pernice during the Italian dancer’s ongoing Strictly scandal.
It’s said their joint tour ‘Anton and Giovanni Together’ kicking off on June 14 will still go ahead. Despite the reported legal battle surrounding Giovanni’s alleged behaviour with at least three of his Strictly partners, insiders claim there’s no talk of cancelling or delaying the tour dates.
It comes as the BBC is investigating the 33-year-old, who has denied all claims of ‘abusive’ behaviour and misconduct. Earlier this week, he told fans he was looking forward to ‘clearing his name’.

A source told the Mirror: “This has been a really difficult time for Giovanni but the tour with Anton is going ahead. There is no reason for it to be cancelled or even postponed.
“Gio has not been found guilty of anything, though he is the subject of much speculation. The Back Together tour will go ahead, and he and Anton will be standing up on stage together as they have done for many tours.”
The Strictly Theatre Co has been promoting the pair’s tour as well as Gio’s solo gigs slated for early year. Anton, 57, and Giovanni, 33, have struck up a close bond since the latter joined Strictly in 2015.
They’ve been wowing audiences with their moves since 2021, starting with their show ‘Him and Me’, and are now gearing up to dazzle fans with a series of performances this coming June and July.
It comes after Daily Star revealed that Gio’s BBC travel shows with Anton have been axed during the BBC’s investigation into Gio’s behaviour. This probe was sparked following his partnership with actress Amanda Abbington, 52, in the latest series of Strictly.
The Sherlock star quit the show early. She later alleged she experienced PTSD and was left “bruised” from the practice sessions.
Breaking his silence on the Sunday Mirror’s Invite Only podcast earlier this year, Giovanni addressed the controversy for the first time. Just this week, the dancer reached out to his followers, stating: “I look forward to clearing my name.”
Daily Star has contacted Giovanni’s representatives for comment.
