Gavin & Stacey star Joanna Page has admitted she faces a fight to watch her own Christmas special in her busy home.

The return of the much-loved BBC sitcom for a final time is set to be one of the biggest hits on festive telly. But Joanna reckons she’ll not be able to hear any of it with all the chatter in her packed house.

She said: “I’m already starting to worry, because I’ve got four kids. You’re not telling me that every single one is going to sit down and watch it.

“I’m going to be like, ‘Shush!’ Someone’s going to be talking. Boe [aged three] won’t sit down all the way through.

“We’ll try and get through as much as possible without the dogs needing to go out for a wee or someone kicking off.

“It’ll be a Gavin & Stacey version of sitting down to watch the Christmas special on the telly!”

Joanna, 47, shot to fame in 2007 playing Stacey Shipman in the iconic comedy series.

But she revealed she has her sights on appearing on another of the Beeb’s top shows soon.

Joanna said: “I’ve been asked for years to go on Strictly Come Dancing and have always said no.

“You’ve got to give up a massive chunk of your time – and with kids so small, I can’t do that because I wouldn’t want to do it half-heartedly.

“In the future, when everybody’s in school and a bit older, when the kids could come and watch me in rehearsals, I think I’d quite enjoy doing it.

“Give me a couple of years to make my pelvic floor a little bit stronger, then I think I’d throw myself into it!”

The last episode of Gavin and Stacey aired on Christmas day in 2019 and by new year’s day it had been viewed by over 17 million, solidifying its position as one of the UK’s most-watched shows.
