Giovanni Pernice has broken his social media silence as he returned to his platforms after being snubbed by Strictly Come Dancing.
Italian hunk Gio, 33, took to his social media platforms to share an video promoting his upcoming Bailando show coming on Friday (June 14). Uploading the video to the workshop’s official account, Pernice was seen leading a group dance session in preparation for the big day.
Opting to be a man of few words for the post, Giovanni simply posted the video alongside three heart emojis. In the video, he beamed with smiles as he took charge with the troupe, showing his recent run-ins with former partners have not dampened his spirits on the dancefloor.

Giovanni will be taking to the stage for his show Bailando, which translates to ‘Dancing’ in Spanish, together with fellow Strictly star Kai Widdrington. Other stars from the BBC show will also be appearing at the event, including professional Nadia Bychkova and judges Shirley Ballas and Anton du Beke.
The social media update comes just days after Pernice was confirmed not to be taking part in this year’s series of the competition. Instead, several other professionals will grace the dancefloor including Neil Jones, Amy Dowden and reigning champion Vito Coppola.
Meanwhile, the internal investigation being carried out by the BBC into Giovanni remains ongoing. The investigation was called following allegations of workplace misconduct at the hands of the Sicilian performer during last year’s series.
Partner Amanda Abbington quit the competition after just five weeks, amid rumours of a rift between her and Pernice. After the show, she claimed the process caused her to develop post-traumatic stress disorder.
Lawyers for the Sherlock actress have asked for tapes of the couple’s rehearsals and training to help in their case, as several other stars who have previously worked with Giovanni came forward, including Laura Whitmore and Ranvir Singh.
In an attempt to pre-empt any potential future cases, the BBC is now coming through nine years of footage to catch any misgivings during training, as the inquiry continues. Meanwhile, the broadcaster has implemented a new duty of care process for all reality shows, which will allow dancers to seek a psychologist and therapy both during and after the show.
Giovanni himself strongly denies all the allegations currently being made against him. He took to social media previously to say he was “just as surprised” as fans were to learn of the claims being made, but was “looking forward to clearing his name”, as he instructed a top law firm to defend him in any future cases.
