Gladiators host Bradley Walsh tells co-host son to ‘leave it’ after X-rated quip

Gladiators host Bradley Walsh tells his co-host son to “leave it” after he made an X-rated quip.

The much-loved presenter is fronting the BBC reboot with his son Barney, who made a rather rude joke on the first episode of the show. Stopping his cheeky son from going any further, Bradley was quick to put the naughtiness to a stop.

As the pair introduced a brand new game to the show, Bradley said: “Thank you very much indeed it’s time for one of our new games – the ring. The trick is to make it to the centre of the ring without getting tackled by the gladiators.

Barney then added: ” I’ll tell you what, that is not easy because as we’ve seen, a lot of our gladiators have impressive tackles.” Before Bradley abruptly interrupted: “Leave it,” before adding “It’s the ring.”

Bradley and his son Barney hosted the show

The first episode of the father and son presenting together seemed to go down a treat with viewers. Some even commented on the duo online, with one writing: “Loved the new #Gladiators series. Good Saturday night entertainment and loving Bradley and Barney.”

A second added: “Thought that the new series of Gladiators was actually pretty good, kept the vibe and feeling of the original, new gladiators were decent, Bradley and Barney Walsh were my only concern and they’re absolutely fine #Gladiators #bbc”

While a third penned: “Bradley and Barney are great hosts. I had doubts at first but they are coming across well. #Gladiators” A fourth posted: “Absolutely loved the reboot of #Gladiators. Great new Gladiators! #Giant is my immediate fave and my mum says she loves #Legend Great iconic old and new events! Great new hosts! Absolutely love Bradley and Barney Walsh! Saturday nights are sorted and yes hoping for series 2!”

However, some viewers weren’t as sure and shared their thoughts on X. One stated: “#Gladiators was a fantastic bit of 90s nostalgia, with the added benefit of NO AD BREAKS but if the BBC do another series they need to find new presenters. Bradley & Barney Walsh’s attempted comedy was really annoying.

While another typed: “Barney Walsh is only “famous” because he’s Bradley Walsh’s son. But I’m also baffled as to why Bradley Walsh is famous himself, because he’s not a very good presenter, and he isn’t funny either. Strange. #Gladiators”
