Good Morning Britain host Adil Ray has confirmed whether he would be taking part in Strictly Come Dancing this year or not.
The host, 50, returned to our screens on Tuesday (June 25) to present the ITV morning news show. He was joined on the panel by regular anchor Susanna Reid, as the pair ran through the stories making the headlines that day.
During one segment of the programme, the couple chatted to Strictly professionals Karen Hauer and Gorka Márquez with the series celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. The dancing duo are also heading out on tour in the summer, before heading into full Strictly mode in time for the autumn.

As the interview kicked off, Susanna – who took part in the BBC competition back in 2013 and finished as a runner-up – asked her co-host Adil whether he would consider going on the show. It was here he gave his categorical response to rumours that he would be taking part.
“So did we establish if you would do Strictly?” Susanna asked, as Adil sighed with exasperation. “Nah, I don’t think I would,” he replied – leaving Susanna aghast.
As Susanna was left shocked, she demanded answers and exclaimed: “What?!” Ray explained his reasoning, stating: “I can’t do it – I’d embarrass myself!” as Karen and Gorka erupted into jovial jeers, with Karen herself quipping: “That’s what we want!”
Later in the interview, Spanish hunk Gorka explained that having a person like Adil on the show would be “perfect” as it could show how much celebrities could do. However, Adil was having none of it, saying: “You haven’t seen me dance – it’s a lot of jumping up and down.”
Karen then took it upon herself to try and teach Adil a move, which the host was initially reluctant to do. After some convincing, he did get up and gave a side step a go, with mediocre success – leading Karen to quip: “You haven’t got two left feet, you’ve got two right feet!”
Fans watching the show at home, however, were unconvinced that Adil was not going on Strictly and flocked to social media to speculate whether he would indeed be on the dancefloor. One user penned: “Adil is secretly hoping he’s being chosen for Strictly!”
A second account posted: “Adil Ray for Strictly! I believe in you Adil, come on Strictly – sort it please.”
Other accounts also believed in Adil’s potential to appear on the BBC show, with a third fan writing: “Something makes me think Adil Ray is doing Strictly – hope so!” Whilst a fourth added: “I would love to watch Adil on Strictly,” followed by a heart-eyes and smiling emoji.
Good Morning Britain airs every weekday at 6am on ITV1 and ITVX.
