GMB’s Ed Balls was left with his jaw on the floor after a guest made a rather brutal weight dig.
The ITV show returned for another instalment on Monday (June 17) with Ed and Susanna Reid back at the helm. The pair were on hand to share the latest news and headlines from around the world.
And at one point in the show, Susanna and Ed spoke to TV legend Noel Edmonds. But things took an awkward turn when Noel made a rather brutal dig about Ed.

During their interview, Noel was left stunned as none other than Mr Blobby came running out. Noel and Mr Blobby were a famous TV partnership back in the ’90s – with both shooting to fame on the BBC TV show Noel’s House Party.
Gatecrashing Noel’s GMB interview, the beloved character Mr Blobby started to climb on the sofa while hugging Noel. He then trampled all over his pal as the pair embraced.
With GMB descending into chaos, Noel then brutally said: “The only that can be said about this, is he makes Ed look slim!” Noel’s savage dig left Ed gobsmacked, while Susanna laughed in the background, before trying to move swiftly on.
However, fans were quick to react to Noel’s dig – with one saying there was “no need” to say it. On X, someone said: “Noel Edmond’s just fat-shamed @edballs using Mr Blobby.”
Someone else said: “Noel Edmonds so rude. Absolutely no need to say that to Ed.” A third wrote: “Oh Noel, you didn’t need to go there with the Ed Balls weight comment! I still love you.”
Legendary presenter Noel enjoyed one of the most successful TV careers as a presenter in the UK, spanning five decades and countless appearances. Before he took on his most famous job in Deal Or No Deal, he was hosted shows such as Top Of The Pops, Top Gear, Noel’s Party House and the National Lottery.
Noel’s Party House ran for nine years between 1991-2000, and had a huge 15 specials, as well as winning BAFTA awards. Some of the biggest stars of the times were victim to Noel’s pranks in a segment called ‘Gotchas.’
It was the Gotchas section that introduced the world to Mr Blobby, who would often get involved with the pranks and became a star in his own right, scoring a Christmas number one in 1993.
