Later on in the show, the presenting duo welcomed British hypnotist Paul McKenna onto the show to explain how New Years Resolutions are set up to make you fail within the first month. Susanna explained: “We know that our Ranvir would not be here presenting if it was for you, Paul McKenna. What was it? A hypnotism trance CD?”

Ranvir gushed: “Yes it was back in the day when you had the CD in the back of your album to make you confident. And there was a rota mix up at BBC North West tonight because I was in regional TV, I was a reporter.

“And there was three presenters all off and I thought, ‘This is my moment’ because I really wanted to present the programme. And I listened to it for a month, every night your voice was counting backwards and all of that.”

She went on: “And as I walked into the studio that day I just thought, ‘I can do this, I can nail it’. And I just waltzed in and I got a round of applause from the crew and everyone.

“It was really weird but it really worked and I do thank you for that, I really do.” Paul couldn’t help but blush as he insisted: “Thank you, thank you for telling me. You are the person I wrote the book for, so thank you.”

It comes after the TV broadcaster revealed she has taken things to the next step with her younger strictly-come-dancing>Strictly Come Dancing boyfriend. The beloved TV star, 46, revealed that her boyfriend Louis Church, 28, has moved in with her and her son.

She decided to make the big step in her relationship after meeting Louis during her time on the BBC dance competition back in 2020. The couple now live with Ranvir’s 10-year-old son Tushaan, who she shares with her ex-husband Ranjeet Singh Dehal and her older mother.

Writing for The Telegraph, the journalist gave a rare insight into her relationship as she shared how her morning routine has changed since the dancer moved in. She told the publication: “[At 5.30am] I try to talk myself back to sleep but it doesn’t always work.

“I get up, make a decaf tea and start chopping an onion for a dahl lunch. My partner Louis is terrible. He always hits snooze every ten minutes – it drives me mad!” She finishes off her morning by taking her dog Shmizzels on a walk before heading to work.
