Heading over to X formerly known as Twitter in their droves, fans shared their thoughts- with many of them appearing to be rather disgusted. One viewer said: “Oh f**k right off with this, absolutely grim.”
Another shocked fan also said: “Omg what am I seeing on #Gogglebox.” A third angry viewer penned: “I am sorry but that scene from Saltburn was truly disgusting, how many more degrading scenes are we going to be subjected to in the future, and may I add ch4, you don’t need horrible scenes like that to make a good programme.
But others who already knew about the infamous bath scene found it quite funny. One fan said: “Never knew I needed to see the #gogglebox lot watch the saltburn bathtub scene. Cackling.”
Another echoed: “The Saltburn part was every bit as hilarious as I’d hoped. I’m SO glad this show is back.”
While a third agreed: “I never watch #Gogglebox but tonight it was absolutely worth those few minutes of my time to watch these no-marks viewing #Saltburn bath scene.”
While watching the film, the stars of Gogglebox were also disgusted by the scenes. Jenny Newby who was sat alongside her friend Lee Riley couldn’t cope with what sh was seeing and appered to gag at the sickening moment.
The popular film has been classified as a “slow-burn success story of awards season” as it appears to have had more success on streaming than it did in cinemas. The film has managed to achieve five nominations at this Sunday’s Bafta Film Awards.
