Hairy Bikers’ Si King admits it’s ‘really strange’ without Dave Myers in bittersweet update

Hairy Bikers star Si King has admitted that it feels “really strange” to be without his best friend and co-chef Dave Myers.

66-year-old Myers sadly passed away last month, leaving many heartbroken fans behind. Announcing his pal’s death, 57-year-old King said: “My best friend is on a journey that for now, I can’t follow.”

Despite these difficult circumstances, King recently shared some uplifting news: the Hairy Bikers have been nominated yet again for the Fortnum And Mason Food And Drink Award’s personality of the year gong. He revealed Myers took great pride in this particular honour as it’s voted for by the public.

The popular foodie friends have already won this award four times in 2014, 2017, 2022, and 2023. In a heartfelt message posted on their joint social media account, Hairy Bikers X, King declared: “Dave and I were so chuffed to be nominated once again for the Fortnum and Mason Food Personality of the Year Award for the 4th year running.

“Dave was so proud of this award, particularly because it’s voted for by our loyal followers and fans, the people who matter most to us”, reported the Mirror. Reflecting on life without Myers, King admitted: “It’s really strange for us all not to have Dave around but for now, we will keep posting on the Hairy Bikers socials to keep in touch with all those people who have been so kind over many years and particularly in recent weeks.”
