TV star Si King has finally spoken out about his career plans, hinting at a move into music. The Hairy Biker, who gained fame alongside mate Dave Myers for their popular TV cooking shows, quickly became a national treasure.
The pair, known for their love of food and motorcycles, co-authored an impressive 27 cookbooks, including eight diet books, and starred in over 30 series for the BBC and Channel 5.
However, earlier this year, Dave Myers, one half of the duo, tragically died at the age of 66 following a cancer diagnosis.
57 year old Si has already dismissed the idea of continuing the Hairy Bikers brand, arguing it wouldn’t be ‘respectful to do so’.
In a chat with the Guardian two months ago, he stated: “There can’t be the Hairy Bikers 2.0. That’s not going to happen”, reports the Mirror.
It seems the star might even step back from television entirely, after discussing the ‘tough’ grief he’s experienced since losing Dave.
During an appearance on the Bearded Growers Radio podcast in June, hosts JJ and Bish asked Si about any upcoming projects. “I’m going to take this year [off], because after Dave’s passing, I just kind of wanted to take the year to see what’s up, to see what the landscape was and see how things are going.”

“What a lot of people don’t know about me is I’m a musician. I love music and I do a lot of it,” he revealed
Even though Si describes himself as a ‘white northern man’, he’s passionate about music rooted in black culture. “Go figure,” he quipped.
“And yeah, so I’m kind of just doing that, just to ease myself into things really.”
