Shaun Ryder has had a family of spiders living in his bedroom for 15 years.
The former I’m A Celebrity runner-up said they arrived when he installed a bath in there – and even though he’s got rid of the tub he let them stay.
But Shaun said if they ever stray into his daughters’ room the teenagers get terrified and try to kill them. The Black Grape singer, a dad of six, said going into the jungle held no fears for him because he’s not scared of creepy crawlies.

And when the show ended he wanted to stay in the camp. He said: “There’s nothing wrong with bugs is there.
“They climb all over your face when you’re sleeping anyway in your own house.”
Speaking of spiders, he added: “In my bedroom I used to have this bath tub and they used to come out, the full family of them – big ones, little ones – running round. If they’d stray into the girls’ room, they girls would start going delirious.”
The Step On star said he won’t let any of his family harm his eight-legged pals.
He said: “It’s like ‘stay away from my room and my spiders’. They were just the family that lived in my bath.
“They’re still there, they have been there years – been there 15, 16 years. We have got great grandad and uncle spiders, the lot.
“But they get killed if they go into the girls’ room.”

There have been rumours the Channel 4 show, in which people strip before going on a date, is looking for stars to take part in a celebrity spin-off. But the Happy Mondays singer, 61, said if he was offered a part on the saucy programme he would have to turn it down.
Shaun added: “No way. You’re kidding. I mean look, if you’d have asked me in my twenties I’d have probably done it. But I ain’t going on a show like that at 61 with the f***ing shrivelled up f***ing things that I’ve got now. F*** that. Read the full story here.
