Helen Flanagan still single for sad reason as Celebs Go Dating coach speaks out

Celebs Go Dating’s Helen Flanagan is like a “fish out of water”, her show coach has said.

The Corrie beauty has signed up for the E4 dating show in the wake of her split from footballer fiance Scott Sinclair, who she was with for 13 years and shares three children with. She is now hoping to find her Mr Right on the series, which starts later this month.

Ahead of Helen’s debut, coach Anna Williamson called her the “poster girl” for mums who are dealing with “low self esteem” and back in the dating pool after love splits. “This is the first time in Helen’s life ever that she’s been on her own,” she told The Sun.

“This is the first time she has been a mature adult but she’s in the wilderness and she’s confused. She is so strong and successful in other areas of her life, but not her love life.”

Helen is going on Celebs Go Dating

Anna pointed out that Helen spent most of the years people are often dating and having fun in a relationship. So the fact she is now dating at 34, means she is “doing it the other way around”. The expert added that while Helen nails it when it comes to being sexy and confident, an area for her to improve is conversation.

Helen had been with Scott since 2009 and has been open about her struggles after they broke up.

The star had been in a long relationship

Earlier this year she told how she had a “scary” episode after having a bad reaction to ADHD medication that she was using after the split. She told the Mirror that when the relationship ended she “shut off” her emotions and threw herself into work.

But when Christmas Day came and her children – daughters Matilda, eight, and Delilah, five, and three-year-old son Charlie – spent it with her ex, it hit her hard. “I don’t see it as a break-up, I see it as a divorce,” she said.

“But instead of processing it all, I threw myself into work and shut off my emotions,” she went on. “I just went into survival mode. Then it all came to the surface earlier this year and I was mentally and physically breaking down.”

The star started using medication for Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder to help her cope, but she had a bad reaction that left her seeing things and feeling as if she was “in danger”.
