One Direction fans have been critiquing Harry Styles’ tribute to Liam Payne – but our expert has revealed why his statement is so different to the other members.
The Sign of the Times singer, 30, posted a tribute on Instagram with a picture of Liam singing on stage to a crowd, with the next slide being a written statement from him.
Harry wrote: “I am truly devastated by Liam’s passing. His greatest joy was making other people happy, and it was an honour to be alongside him as he did it. Liam lived wide open, with his heart on his sleeve, he had an energy for life that was infectious.

“He was warm, supportive, and incredibly loving. The years we spent together will forever remain among the most cherished years of my life. I will miss him always, my lovely friend. My heart breaks for Karen, Geoff, Nicola and Ruth, his son Bear, and all those around the world who knew and loved him, as I did.”
However, fans were quick to share their thoughts on his “disingenuous” post claiming that it sounded “scripted”. One wrote: “Not even a picture of you two? This one feels so disingenuous.” A second added: “This sounds so scripted.”
Other loyal fans jumped to the singer’s defence and pleaded: “I’m begging all of you critiquing Harry’s tribute to leave him alone. Harry has always been a man of few words on social media – that fact that he has said anything at all when he lost someone he spent his formative years with less than 48 hours ago is a miracle.”

One other posted: “To all the people criticising Harry’s post, shut up. Seriously. Shut up. He is mourning the death of a friend. He doesn’t need to prove how upset he is to everyone on social media. He is a private person, who at the end of the day didn’t need to say anything. If I lost someone, It would take me months to be able to come out and talk about it. Leave him alone.”

Expert Inbaal Honigman exclusively said: “Fans were quick to notice that Harry’s tribute to Liam was a little shorter and perhaps less poignant than his former band members, and the reason could be written in the stars.
