Holly Willoughby has apologised to her fans for her greasy hair after talking them through a 10-year beauty regime.
The 43-year old, who is an ambassador for Garnier, provided a step-by-step guide to home hair dying on Friday (April 5). In a tutorial clip shared to her Instagram account, Holly began: “Hi everyone. It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these with you so I thought it was time for a little reminder of how I colour my hair at home.”
She continued, holding up a box of her Baby Blonde colouring: “This is my box with my big old face on it. As you can see there’s not a lot of natural baby blonde up there. My roots are coming through and it’s time for a touch-up. Please ignore how greasy my hair is but I have left it till colouring day.”

Dancing on Ice presenter Holly went on to explain that this has been her method of choice for dyeing her hair for “almost 10 years”.
Many of her 8.4 million followers hit out, however, claiming there’s no way Holly dyes her hair herself. One commented on her clip: “No one believes she does her own hair. What a joke.” Another agreed: “I don’t believe for a minute you home colour your hair Holly. Sorry.”
A third added: “As if you use that Holly Booby. You are paid to promote Garnier. I bet you have a hairdresser do yours. Don’t fool me.” And a fourth asked: “Are we really expected to believe that Holly dyes her own hair rather than going to a professional!”
Holly previously detailed her hair dyeing during her This Morning days in the first Covid-19 lockdown. “Tomorrow morning on @thismorning I know I will get an awful lot of questions asking how come I’ve managed to get my hair colour done whilst we are in lockdown (roots were getting out of control!),” she said at the time.
“So, this is weird. Here we are in lockdown and you might be the same as me, looking in the mirror and going ‘Oh my goodness look’ at this big dark stripe that’s coming down the top of my head. As my kids keep telling me: ‘Mummy you’re turning brunette again.'”
Last month it was revealed Holly is to host new reality show Bear Hunt on Netflix in 2025. The show will be an I’m A Celebrity-style series where famous faces live in the jungle, and also star Bear Grylls.
A spokesperson for the production said: “Those who fail to impress will face the dreaded Bear Hunt… a brutal game of cat and mouse where they’ll be hunted down by Bear himself and, if captured, eliminated from the show.”
