Holly Willoughby ‘kidnap and rape plot’ accused had ‘millions of pics of celebs’, court hears

The “obsessed” man accused of plotting to kidnap, rape and murder Holly Willoughby allegedly had millions of images of women on his phone when he was arrested, a court has heard.

Security guard Gavin Plumb, 37, is charged with trying to arrange the “sexually motivated” murder of former This Morning star Holly last October. Holly, who quit This Morning after the alleged plot came to light, has waived her right to anonymity.

Chelmsford Crown Court heard on Tuesday (June 25) that Plumb allegedly spent almost two years on the plot, describing it as his “ultimate fantasy”. He allegedly said: “Fantasy isn’t enough anymore. I want the real thing.”

Detective Constable William Belsham of Essex Police said in the witness box that Plumb had been using a mobile phone when he was arrested on October 4, 2023. The phone was kept unlocked while police filmed some messages on it using body-worn cameras.

The detective said Plumb did not initially provide the PIN for the phone, but it was later given by his legal representatives, with the phone then sent for a full download.

Prosecutor Alison Morgan KC claimed there were a “vast number” of images of celebrities on the phone, including more than 10,000 of Holly Willoughby. Mr Belsham also claimed: “More than tens of thousands, over-all in the millions.”

Officers reportedly examined 10% of the images, and there were 10,322 of Holly, the court was told.

Elsewhere in his phone, Plumb allegedly searched online for “how to meet people who plan to kidnap celebrities”, “what does it feel like to be raped” and “where [sic] Jewish women raped in the war”.

He allegedly said in a WhatsApp message that he would make Willoughby give “full permission” for him and another man to “do as we please to her”.

In a message to man called Marc, Plumb allegedly wrote: “Get her to cnc give us full permission to do as we please to her.” A second message read: “Consensual non consent we’ll make her say we’re aloud [sic] to do whatever we want to her and record it.”

Plumb denies soliciting murder, incitement to rape and incitement to kidnap, and the trial continues.
