Hollyoaks 2024 spoilers: Shock returns, explosive car crash and teen death teased

Hollyoaks have released their explosive 2024 trailer and fans can expect plenty of drama in the village.

Felix Westwood’s (Richard Blackwood) world comes crashing down when he discovers Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) has been having an affair, but doesn’t know who with. Meanwhile, the bride-to-be is to the wire with deciding her future as she gets steamy in The Dog with Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas) on the day of her wedding.

En route to the church, a frantic Felix is behind the wheel when he confronts his cheating partner. Petrified passengers Mercedes and Warren try to calm him down, but to no avail, as a car crash leads to their lives in jeopardy.

Elsewhere, As Rafe Harcourt (Chris Gordon) admits to falling out of love with his femme fatal wife, Dilly Harcourt (Emma Johnsey-Smith) he decides to expose their sordid plan to oblivious bride-to-be Sienna, who is excited about finally marrying her prince. With a picture of Patrick Blake (Jeremy Sheffield)in Dilly’s locket, she goes to disturbing lengths to keep her secret. The teaser trailer also reveals that also reveals that Liberty Savage (Jessamy Stoddart) is back and walks right into the centre of the drama, and quickly finds herself in peril.

Meanwhile, Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson) is desperate to get his daughter Leah Barnes (Elá-May Melek Demircan) to the hospital when he finds her unconscious in a field after drinking at a rave. As she’s slipping away in the back of his car, he desperately drives her to safety, but will he make it in time or hit any speed bumps along the way.

During the destruction of the crash, the trailer teases an unidentified stranger fleeing the scene, as a new character with a big secret is set to cause a stir this new year. Theresa McQueen (Jorgie Porter) stumbles out of her car covered in blood as her return to the village goes awry when she’s caught in a car crash, but her main concern is helping someone still trapped in the car and residents are shocked to discover who it is.

The mystery of who killed Rayne comes to an end this month as the advert teases Lacey Lloyd’s (Annabelle Davis) return, Prince McQueen (Malique Thompson-Dwyer) innocence proved and the group of friends discover who has been harbouring the dark secret. Also, Nancy Osborne (Jessica Fox) returns to Hollyoaks and has a sweet reunion with husband Darren Osborne (Ashley Taylor Dawson)

However, her welcome return is short-lived when she hears of a crash in the village and Charlie Dean (Charlie Behan) is missing. Joel Dexter (Rory Douglas-Speed) is ready to take the next step with pregnant girlfriend Leela Lomax (Kirsty-Leigh Porter) as he flashes a ring planning to propose and have a proper family but before he does so, they spring into action when there’s a crash in the village.

Also, Ste’s son Lucas Hay (William Hall) struggles to hide his connection with Dillon Ray (Nathanial Dass) as the teenagers grow closer, but their disapproving headteacher, Carter Shepherd (David Ames), offers a “helping hand” and John Paul McQueen (James Sutton) warns Carter to stay away but will he set his sights on Lucas?
