She told the publication: “We’re just normal people who happen to be on the telly, we still have all pressures of paying the bills – so I won’t be taking time out.”
Stephanie initially didn’t think she would have an issue after recently signing a year-long contract and being an original cast member – but was dealt with a huge blow during a staff meeting. She added: “In the meeting they read from a script and a tear fell from my eye because I could just feel it in the room.
“They got to the end and said ‘And with that, we will be losing Cindy from the show’. I just kept saying ‘I don’t understand’. I was very distraught, I didn’t take it well – I was probably the most dramatic person they told.
“I was clutching at anything – telling them ‘but I was the first person to give birth on the show!’ I could see the distress I was causing them because they were upset that I was so upset.”
The TV star was so upset that she couldn’t help but break down in front of her co-stars and fell into their arms in despair. She couldn’t stop feeling blue all day and also was upset in the evening with her fiancé Tom Brookes.
The actress took a little time off before heading back to work as she didn’t want to be crying on set. She added: “When I went back I was able to do my job and that’s what I’ve been doing every day since.”
