Home and Away Leah star supported by co-stars as she shares huge jobs news away from soap

Home and Away favourite Ada Nicodemou shared a surprising career move with her followers.

The actress, 46, has portrayed Leah Patterson since 2000, making her one of the longest serving female cast members on a soap in Australia. The TV star has now shifted her attention to writing as she announced the launch of her first-ever children’s book, titled Mia Megastar.

“I’m very excited to announce my brand new book, Mia Megastar!” she began in an Instagram post. “It’s all about family, food, friendship & fun and is the perfect junior fiction novel for all the young people out there (aimed at 8 year old girls and above) who want to be megastars.”

The mum-of-one revealed it’s “loosely based” on her life growing up and what inspired her to become an actor. She added: “And Mia does this through creating her own drama club with her friends. It’s funny, warm, it’s all about the crazy Greek culture. You’re going to love it.”

Ada’s celebrity pals and co-stars were quick to congratulate her on the book, with Marilyn Chambers star Emily Symons writing, “Congratulations Ada, how exciting!”

“This is awesome!!! We will get it,” commented former Australian model and property developer Kyly Clarke. Another gushed: “Well done & congratulations on the new book I hope it does inspire younger girls to become actors!!!”

While Ada is thriving, the same can’t be said for her soap counterpart Leah who has been struggling since being kidnapped by a cult. Leah has been haunted with nightmares of the ordeal and has barely been sleeping.

Already worried about Leah, her fiancé Justin’s (James Stewart) concerns escalated during Thursday’s episode (Feb 1) of the soap. Standing in the car park, an approaching vehicle sent Leah’s mind racing back to the kidnapping.

A stunned Justin emerged from the car and rushed to her side. Leah explained since the nightmares started, she can’t make them stop. Through tears, Leah finally admitted that she needs help.
