Huge rockstar rejects P Diddy’s advances as he dodges kiss in awkward resurfaced clip

P Diddy seemed to get rejected by Bono in an awkward moment on stage.

A resurfaced clip from the 2014 Golden Globes caught the uncomfortable exchange years before the rapper’s arrest. In it, the U2 frontman appeared to swerve the rapper, who is facing federal charges of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transportation to engage in prostitution.

Diddy, real name Sean Combs, was presenting the the Best Original Song Award at the 2014 award show. U2 scooped up the award for their song Ordinary Love, written for the 2013 film Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.

The iconic Irish rockers took to the stage to accept the award, where they were greeted by Diddy. U2’s guitarist The Edge shared a hug with the rapper.

But then Diddy seemed to lean in to hug Bono and try to kiss the singer on the cheek. It looked like Bono decided to pull away in order to avoid the kiss before taking to the mic to give his award speech.

Viewers have been revisiting the clip following Diddy’s arrest and spotting the rapper looking rather unhappy on stage after the moment. “Did you see Diddy’s face wow,” wrote one on a YouTube clip of the moment. Another agreed: “Puff gets a cutthroat facial expression when he doesn’t get his way.”

A fan on X, formerly Twitter, wrote: “Diddy looking around to see if anyone saw him getting rejected by Bono,”. Another asked why “Diddy wasn’t liked by Bono”.

Diddy was arrested last month and is being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. He denies all criminal wrongdoing.

The rapper allegedly created “a criminal enterprise whose members and associates engaged in, and attempted to engage in, among other crimes, sex trafficking, forced labour, kidnapping, arson, bribery and obstruction of justice”. The allegations were laid out in a federal indictment against the musician, who has been denied bail.

The indictment alleged that he held what he called “Freak-off” parties. They were allegedly sex performances in which the victims were allegedly drugged and coerced into sex acts with male workers.

He’s also facing assault allegations from over 100 people, several of whom are minors, lawyer Tony Buzbee told a press conference last week. “This is an important matter that we intend to aggressively pursue,” Buzbee told reporters.

The lawyer said he and his team “will leave no stone unturned to find potentially liable parties” in the alleged abuse by Diddy. Diddy’s legal team spoke out against Buzbee’s claims.

His lawyer Erica Wolff told Daily Mail: “Mr Combs emphatically and categorically denies as false and defamatory any claim that he sexually abused anyone, including minors. He looks forward to proving his innocence and vindicating himself in court, where the truth will be established based on evidence, not speculation.”
