A hugely popular Strictly Come Dancing professional has reportedly signed up for Celebrity Big Brother – and has sparked fears he could quit the ballroom.
It’s said show-pro Nikita Kuzmin, 26, has been selected by producers of ITV’s upcoming Celeb Big Brother reboot as an “obvious heartthrob”. It’s believed the Ukrainian dancer might leave the BBC show after three years.
The star’s profile rocketed after being paired with the likes of West End star Layton Williams, Gordon Ramsay’s daughter Tilly and Paralympic swimmer Ellie Simmonds. And if he appears on Celeb Big Brother’s launch on Monday night (March 1) it’ll be on the BBC’s rival broadcaster ITV1.

A TV insider told The Sun: “This will send the rumour mill into overdrive, with some already suggesting he may not return to Strictly and is instead making the most of being a rising star.
“He’ll have been selected by CBB producers as an obvious heartthrob who can spice things up in the house — and maybe even spill some secrets from behind the scenes of Strictly.”
Other celebs rumoured to be stepping into the house include former This Morning host Fern Britton and X Factor judges Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh. Former Hollyoaks star Sarah Jayne Dunn was also tipped for the show, as well as rugby hunk James Haskell and TOWIE bombshell Chloe Brockett.
Big Brother host AJ Odudu and Will Best have teased which kind of stars they’d like to see in the house. AJ told Daily Star and other press: “The success of the civilian series was all down to the cast. It was so diverse and they had such different backgrounds and that is what I want applied to the celebrity version. How fun would it be to have a WWE wrester? Who knows. We actually really don’t know. At the end of the day, we’ve seen rumours as well.
“Some people I think ‘whack them in’ but I definitely want to see someone from Selling Sunset. Give me an American because they never quite full understand the concept and they never know who the UK celebs are so the two worlds colliding is always perfection. We want some A-list celebrities to go in there and say ‘Where’s the champagne?’.
ITV said: “We don’t comment on speculation” when approached for comment. The BBC also declined to comment.
