Hugh Jackman, 55, shows off incredible ‘Wolverine workout’ but fans all spot same thing

Hugh Jackman has been busy bulking up in preparation for his Wolverine return but was savagely mocked for one key part of his workout after showing off his progress.

The Aussie-born actor, 55, is now one of the biggest faces in Hollywood but was relatively unknown when he landed his breakthrough role as Wolverine in 2000’s X-Men. For more than a decade he continued to return to the iconic role but left fans disappointed when he retired as Wolverine in 2017.

Following the release of Logan, Hugh claimed he was 100% done with Wolverine and repeatedly denied his friend and fellow actor Ryan Reynolds’ requests to return. But seven years after walking away from the role, Hugh is now picking his claws back up as he’s set to finally make his Wolverine comeback.

The Greatest Showman star will reprise his role in Deadpool 3, which is set to be released in July this year and recently took to Instagram to show how he’s getting in shape for the action-packed role. Hugh showed off his growing muscles as he shared a video of him lifting some weights in the gym.

The actor could be seen grimacing as he did some bicep curls and they appeared to be paying off as his veins bulged out of his massive muscles. He captioned the post: “No days off – except for tomorrow. #becomingwolverineagain”.

But fans were quick to spot a major flaw in the actor’s workout routine as they noticed Hugh’s legs didn’t quite match up to his massive arms. The comment section was flooded by fitness enthusiasts brutally taunting Hugh as they accused him of not paying enough attention to his legs.

“Bro skipped legs day,” one person commented. A second urged: “Don’t skip leg day”.

Another wrote: “Leg day is a thing…. right? Or CGI will fix that?” While someone else said: “We all are commenting about the straws hanging from your shorts. Yes, I am referring to your legs.”

But others weren’t as critical of the star’s workout routine as he was also dubbed “Huge Jacked Man” by impressed fans. Coming to his defence, one person pointed out: “This LEGEND is 55 years old and people (most of them never worked out) have the audacity to tell Wolverine to work out more his legs? Come on.”

A second added: “Wolverine is back! Great physique sir”. A third wrote: “Respect this man!!! Here he goes again!!! Building the muscles!!!”

Deadpool 3 will mark the 10th time Hugh has played Wolverine. He’s previously claimed it’ll take him six months of dedicated training to get fit for the role.

During an appearance on CNN and HBO Max’s Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace? earlier this month Hugh, who recently finished starring in a Broadway show, explained: “I’ve learned you can’t rush it. I’ve learned that it takes time.

“So, we have six months from when I finish [Broadway’s The Music Man] to when I started filming. And I’m not doing any other work. I’m going to be with my family and train. That’s going to be my job for six months.”

But he revealed he’s already got a head start as he added: “I’m really fit right now. That’s one thing about eight shows a week being on Broadway singing and dancing, is I’m fit. So, I’m healthy. I have a good place to start.”
