Helen Flanagan turned down a bloke on Celeb’s Go Dating – even though he bought her a present over dinner.
And it turns out it wasn’t any gift for the actress, who admitted she had a boyfriend during the reality show, it happened to be one of Danny’s Ricecakes.
Who said romance is dead, right? Well, it might not have been a bunch of flowers – but could the circular snack produced by one of the country’s most viral memes be a real matchmaker?

It wasn’t in Helen’s case, but that doesn’t mean it won’t win another’s heart over. So to put it to the test, I decided to give one of Danny’s Rice Cakes a punt.
And it looks like Corrie and I’m a Celeb star Helen is truly missing out.
Danny Andrews launched two protein rice cakes earlier this year in attempts to pocket from his viral internet fame – something he has never done from the mega viewed YouTube video.
The bloke is still into the gym and is passionate about fuelling your body, he wanted to make a product for gym-lovers on the go – but something that also tastes good.
So, to only be fair, I gave both flavours a go – white chocolate and milk chocolate. Each packet comes with two rice cakes of the same flavour and each pack contains 15g of protein. Decent if you want to get hench for a date, right?
Well, I don’t. But, as a ‘health conscious’ snack in general, they both taste really good. I’ve personally never been a huge advocate for rice cakes, I much prefer chocolate or crackers to snack on.
However, the chocolate covered rice cakes were actually very pleasant. Danny hasn’t been lacklustre with the chocolate casing, nor did he over do it.
On the taste test, I prefered the milk chocolate over the white chocolate. That’s only because I’m a massive chocolate fiend and could taste the rice cake more with the white chocolate.
The rice cakes themselves provided a good crunch and were neither squishy. They didn’t have that annoying rice cake crumble either. Maybe Danny has converted me to a rice cake lover?
But, they do have to come with chocolate by the looks of it.
If Danny and his rice cakes were not a hit with Helen, they’re certainly a hit with me.
Earlier this year, we exclusively had a chat with Danny about how he become the viral meme after his ‘fish and rice cakes’ line. He featured in a BBC Three documentary, Baby Face Body Builders.
It featured a then-16-year-old Danny who unveiled his very strict diet of fish and rice cakes. A clip of the budding body builder’s quote was then posted onto YouTube.
Then Danny’s life changed forever, he would become one of the very first viral memes of the internet – and it would torment him for years.
He admitted he struggled to date and would often get trolled by lads on nights out. But, he decided to embrace his fame – or infamy – and he hasn’t looked back since.
Speaking to Daily Star in a candid chat, Danny told us: “I did a documentary and I became a viral meme – it was like the first ever viral meme. I didn’t even know what a meme was, people were calling me a ‘me-me’.
“It was filmed in 2005 and it was going through the rounds in 2007, it’s been now nearly 18 years later now.
“And it still goes strong, it goes in waves so I’ll get battered with it for a while.
“I’ve suffered from online trolls and their abuse and I never used to tell girls as it would put girls off if they hadn’t met me.”
Danny continued: “Back then was I was 16, there was a reason why I did it. I was a 16-year-old and they put a camera in my face and I’m sure people see their school pictures and they’ll be embarrassed
“But I embrace it now, I was a kid back then – that doesn’t define me.
“I want to have the last laugh and finally be proud of being the fish and rice cakes guy.”
