Late Queen star Freddie Mercury’s stunning London home has gone on sale for an eye-watering £30 million, 33 years after his death. We take a look inside the London pad
Freddie Mercury’s plush pad in London has gone up for sale, more than 30 years after the star’s death.
Queen singer Freddie owned the Garden Lodge in Kensington from 1980 until he died in 1991 at the age of 45 due to AIDS-related complications. The mansion was left to his friend and former fiancee Mary Austin, who he referred to as his “common law wife”.
She hung on to the house – which includes a stunning Japanese sitting room, a music centre and a bar – after the singer passed away but has now put it up for sale for a whopping £30 million. However, having a peek around the luxurious home isn’t going to be possible for most Freddie fans.
The eight-bedroom house does not appear to be listed online, and it seems only applicants who can show they can pay for it will get further details and the chance to view the house.
