John Cena stripped off all his clothes to present the Academy Award for Best Costume Design – but how did he pull it off?
With host Jimmy Kimmel’s help as he stepped in to give him a hand getting dressed again. The wrestling star and actor stood on stage with only the award envelope covering his modesty, a nod to a streaker who interrupted the 1974 Oscar Awards.
John started the joke by pretending to be nervous and partially hiding backstage as he chatted with host Jimmy Kimmel. He then nervously stepped onto the stage, with a bit of padding seen behind the card to prevent any embarrassing wardrobe mishaps on live TV.

A video shared by Hollywood Reporter writer Chris Gardner revealed how a team quickly dressed John while the nomination reel was playing. The clip showed how the lights in the Dolby Theatre dimmed as four people rushed out to help John get dressed.
Jimmy was standing nearby, helping to fasten the curtain-like material together. When the lights came back on, John was wearing a gold toga-like outfit as he announced the winner – Holly Waddington, the designer for Poor Things, reports the Mirror.
Other nominees for the award included Jacqueline Durran for Barbie; Jacqueline West for Killers of the Flower Moon; Janty Yates and Dave Crossman for Napoleon; and Ellen Mirojnick for Oppenheimer. At the 96th annual award show, celebrities sparkled on the red carpet in their most glamorous outfits for the special event.
Actress Vanessa Hudgens turned heads as she announced her pregnancy news, showing off her baby bump in a tight black dress. The former High School Musical star is expecting her first child with her husband, Major League Baseball shortstop Cole Tucker.
This year’s awards will be hosted by Brendan Fraser, making a big comeback after being blacklisted from Hollywood due to alleged abuse claims. The Whale star will lead the ceremony, honouring the best in film over the past year.
Other stars presenting awards include last year’s famous winners Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan and Jamie Lee Curtis.
