Jonathan, Paul and their four siblings were born to John and Martha Ross – the latter an actress and radio presenter who passed away in 2019, aged 79. Having been exposed to the world of theatre in her childhood thanks to her auntie’s own exploits, Martha developed a passion for showbiz, something she eventually realised for herself after becoming a mum-of-six.

She began recording audiobooks and providing voiceover work on a number of productions and appearing in a number of advertisements with her talented children. After marrying actor, writer and musician Tony Phillips in 1992, she wrote and performed in the theatre scene on local and national levels and also appeared on TV shows including Grange Hill, Barrymore and Space Virgins.

Martha also worked as an extra on EastEnders from its 1985 inception up until 2006 when her contract was terminated after Paul leaked a Christmas storyline on his radio show.

Jonathan and Jane’s daughter Honey is a regular on our pages, with the influencer often showcasing her curves to the delight of her 57,000 Instagram followers. The 26-year old founded two podcasts promoting body positivity – Reel Talk with her dad, and Body Protest – and also promotes lingerie brand Sloggi.

Known for her captivating social media presence and her outspoken views on gender equality and body image, Honey has long been an advocate for positive change. In a video for The Body Protest, she highlighted the connection between gender inequality and a lack of self-love, emphasizing the societal pressure on women to shrink themselves physically and intellectually.

Honey also regularly shares empowering advice for women in leadership roles, encouraging them to prioritize their own well-being, assert their boundaries by confidently saying “no,” and seek strength in unity by finding their support system and standing up for what they believe in.

Honey’s elder sibling Betty suffers from several health problems including fibromyalgia, which leaves sufferers with chronic pain throughout their bodies. The 32-year old has also been diagnosed chronic fatigue syndrome and postural tachycardia syndrome (POTS), which results in a rapid increase in heart rate when standing up.

Betty, who regularly uses a mobility scooter and a walking frame to aid her mobility, opened up about living with her ailments in a chat with her Instagram followers last year. In response to a fan she explained: “I think I’m getting better at pacing myself which helps me avoid post-exertional malaise on at least minimise it. I was given the great advice by the Perrin specialists I’m seeing that however much I feel like I can do in a day, don’t do more than half of that. So if I feel like I think I could manage a 30 minute trip to the park I won’t actually do more than a 15 minute trip out, and I just apply that to like everything.”

She continued: “Playing it safe like that has really meant that I’m not getting that PEM blowback as frequently or as badly, and also that because I’m getting it less the amount I can do has increased a great deal so even though I’m still doing half of what I think I can manage, the amount I think I can manage has been increasing. I don’t always judge it right, but it’s definitely helped immensely!”
