ITV This Morning fans ‘switch off’ as they fume at ‘rude’ Jimmy Carr’s behaviour

Comedian Jimmy Carr’s antics on This Morning have sparked public indignation as host Dermot O’Leary rushed to support celebrity chef Clodagh McKenna.

While presenting some of her scrumptious recipes, she endured numerous interruptions from the comic. Jimmy closely watched the Irish culinary expert working magic in the show’s kitchen before questioning her methods. While repurposing a chicken carcass into a saucepan for multiple cooking applications, Jimmy nonchalantly queried: “What? Have you not got a bin?”

Despite facing constant obstructions, a resilient Clodagh maintained her cool while trying to present her segment. Ignoring her efforts, Jimmy continued to hush her, stating: “Pop it in the bin! It’s gone, the chicken is gone”.

He added fuel to the fire, mocking her pitch about a specially prepared chicken broth by sarcastically stating: “Wait until she finds out about stock cubes!” Overstepping further, he kept lobbing comments over Clodagh’s explanation.

Once her bit ended and everyone started sampling a delightful chicken and vegetable dish, Jimmy audaciously critiqued it for lacking enough chicken.

While Clodagh kept her cool on-screen, viewers were having none of it, taking to social media to vent their frustration at Carr’s antics. One X user fumed: “Urgh. Jimmy Carr next. Switching off as he is obnoxious and proved it by having no respect to Clodah’s segment.” Another chimed in with equal disdain: “Jimmy Carr what an absolute a*** to Clodagh.”

The backlash didn’t stop there, with another adding: “I doubt Jimmy would appreciate it if Clodagh joined his segment and started loudly interrupting and undermining everything he said.”

The sentiment was shared by another irate fan who posted: “Jimmy Carr being an a**e during this cooking segment on #ThisMorning STFU Jimmy. You’re not funny and just look well pathetic. It’s not always about you.”

Sympathy for Clodagh was widespread, with one supporter suggesting: “If I was Clodagh I would butt in on Jimmy Carr’s segment and throw broccoli at him the rude git! ” And another viewer expressed solidarity: “Clodagh sounds really p***ed off at Jimmy Carr and who could blame her.”

Post-show, Clodagh seemed to brush off the incident, sharing an Instagram selfie with Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary, conspicuously excluding Carr, and quipping: “One chicken, 3 recipes, one @jimmycarr I’m officially ready for the weekend.”

Her followers continued to rally behind her in the comments, further criticising Jimmy’s behaviour during the show.

One of her fans expressed their dismay, stating: “I’m sorry the three of them talked over the top of you so much, as a viewer it made it hard to hear so must have been frustrating for you! Great recipes though and can’t wait to try!” Another follower had a bone to pick with Jimmy Carr, voicing: “Jimmy Carr was so rude to you C, you were fab thank you so much.”
