James Martin demands cameras ‘cut to him’ as Saturday Morning guest shares concerns

James Martin demanded the camera crew “cut to him” during the latest Saturday Morning episode after guest Gabrielle shared some concerns.

The television chef invited the music icon onto the show to indulge in some delicious treats he was preparing in the kitchen. But he was soon forced to intervene after Gabrielle was left worried by some potentially “embarrassing” shots of her.

As the segment came to a close, James told Gabrielle: “Give me your finger, you get to have a taste of this.” The singer then jokingly took a lick of her finger in a slightly seductive way, before laughing: “I’m so naughty.”

James explained it was just cream cheese with elderflower. But it was enough to impress Gabrielle, who said: “That is really nice.”

Moments later, James had another tasty treat for the star, though this time it involved a knife and fork. The camera cut to Gabrielle, who was trying to get a decent bite on her fork.

But she was left feeling a little concerned, as she said: “There’s nothing that’s going to hang out of my mouth and make my kids embarrassed, right?”

James was adamant that she would be “fine”. But to make sure, he said: “We’ll cut to a different camera. Cut to me!”

It all turned out fine though, and Gabrielle got to enjoy her food – although she was in shot the entire time and the cameras didn’t move to James.

James Martin’s Saturday Morning airs on ITV at 9.30am each Saturday
