The BBC have pulled a Jay Blades show from air after he was charged with controlling and coercive behaviour.
The Repair Shop presenter has been charged with engaging in controlling or coercive behaviour towards his estranged wife Lisa Zbozen. The broadcaster on Friday (September 13) pulled a repeat of Jay Blades’ show David and Jay’s Touring Toolshed from its evening schedule.
The 54-year-old appeared at Kidderminster Magistrates’ Court in Worcestershire on Friday. Blades was charged with one count of engaging in controlling or coercive behaviour in an intimate or family relationship by West Mercia Police.
Following the news, the BBC have removed the episode of Touring Toolshed from air. As revealed by The Mirror, the BBC is not currently scheduling any programmes featuring Blades – the BBC have since confirmed this to Daily Star.

Friday’s episode of the programme, in which Blades meets crafters and hobbyists with Only Fools star Sir David Jason, was due to air at 8pm but was replaced by a “shortened version” of Charlie Dimmock’s show Garden Rescue.
Wednesday was the last time Blades was on air on The Repair Show. The show was nominated for the National Television Awards, but was beaten by The Chase this year.

According to court documents, Blades’ charge relates to his fitness instructor wife Lisa Zbozen, who announced on her Instagram page in May that their relationship was over. The couple married in the grounds of a beachfront villa in Barbados on November 22, 2022.
Blades will appear at Worcester Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on October 11. In a statement, West Mercia Police said: “54-year-old Jason Blades of Wolverhampton has been charged with controlling and coercive behaviour.
“He appeared at Kidderminster Magistrates Court this morning (Friday 13th September) and has been bailed to appear at Worcester Crown Court on Friday 11th October. The charges follow the launch of an investigation after we were called to an address on 3rd May.”
Court documents include allegations of physical and emotional abuse against Lisa. Jay was arrested on May 3 and on the same day, Lisa announced her decision to end their 18-month marriage.
