Jennifer Aniston almost shattered the internet as a whole when she showed off her new cropped hairstyle – returning to ‘the Rachel’ ‘do she sported in her early Friends days.
Jen stole the show at the Golden Globes this weekend, taking to the red carpet in a strapless black gown shaped like a mermaid tail, that fell all the way to the floor and covered her ankles. The figure-hugging skirt was decorated with embroidered clam shells, while the solid black top of the dress tapered off at a silky belt around her waist.
The effect left Jen’s arms and shoulders bare as she glammed up for the cameras, adding sparkly silver rings to her fingers and a pair of matching earrings at each lobe. She added a glossy pink pout and silver eyeshadow, with spidery lashes emphasised by mascara.

Her cropped brunette tresses ended just above her shoulders, with a half-fringe flopping into one eye and a matte brown manicure finishing things off. Though Jennifer walked away from the ceremony without any awards, she definitely stole the show when it came to her fashion sense.

Jennifer’s programme The Morning Show had been nominated for the Best Drama TV Series, a gong that eventually went to HBO Max series Succession.
In recent years, Jen has been desperate to get away from her ‘Rachel’ haircut, despite falling in love with it instantly. Speaking in 2011, she called the cut the “ugliest haircut I’ve ever seen”. She said: “I love Chris [McMillan, my hair stylist], but he’s the bane of my existence at the same time because he started that damn Rachel, which was not my best look.”

She elaborated at the 2018 InStyle Awards: “I got that haircut and was like, ‘Wow, this is amazing’. And then I was totally left with this frizzy mop on my head. It only lasted for about six months because it just was hard to do. I loved it, but I couldn’t style it on my own.”
It comes as Taylor Swift made headlines at the 2024 Golden Globes for her reaction to host Jo Koy’s quip about her romance with NFL star Travis Kelce. Koy joked: “The big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL – on the Golden Globes there’s fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift.”

Social media users called the joke a “flop” on X, with one writing: “That landed with a giant thud and a death glare from Swift. Not Jo Koy’s best moment.” Another agreed: “Does the fool who’s hosting the Golden Globes and just made a joke about Taylor Swift realise millions of viewers had to Google who the hell is Jo Koy!???”
A third added: “Agree. Uncomfortable laughter. And using Taylor Swift in a joke that stopped being funny months ago was a cheap shot.” While someone else said: “Jo Koy, that was embarrassing to watch. And continuously blaming your writers for jokes not landing? Seriously?”
